Crystal-Plane-Dependent Guaiacol Hydrodeoxygenation Performance of Au on Anatase TiO2

TiO2-supported catalysts have been widely used for a range of both liquid-phase and gas-phase hydrogenation reactions. However, little is known about the effect their different crystalline surfaces on activity during hydrodeoxygenation process. In this work, Au supported anatase TiO2, mainly exposing 101 or 001 facets, was investigated (HDO) guaiacol. At 300 °C, strong interaction between TiO2-101 surface resulted in facile reduction with concomitant formation oxygen vacancies, as shown by H2-TPR H2-TPD profiles. Meanwhile, Auδ−, determined CO-DRIFT spectra situ XPS, found to promote demethylation guaiacol producing methane. absent Au/TiO2-001 catalyst since TiO2-001 relatively difficult be reduced compared TiO2-101. The just served active site dissociation hydrogen without Auδ−. atoms spilled over form small amount which lower than that Au/TiO2-101. catalytic Au/TiO2 will controlled tuning crystal plane TiO2 support.
